2014 Red Roan Gelding

Smart whittle Doc is a Strawberry Red Roan AQHA Registered 10 yr old Gelding that stands 15 hands. This is a nice all around ranch rope and Trail gelding that can do a little bit of everything. He is great to ride on the ranch and has a good fast walk and good one hand neck rein and has all the buttons on him as well. Picks up both leads easily. Will side pass to open and close gates and is great to sort cows on and has drug lots of calves to the branding fire.  He is great to take to the mountains or just go for a leisurely ride through the pasture. You can head and heel on this horse and he does things correct. Is not completely finished as a team roping horse but well on his way. He is very willing and trainable. This horse will lope pretty circles, turn around correct and has a good stop. This horse is great to take to the mountains and will go all day and work hard. He is great to take on the mountain trails and handles all the different obstacles with ease. He is always good to be around and is gentle for about anyone who knows how to ride. He is easy to shoe, good to haul and has no bad habits . He is use to cow dogs at his heels and all the commotion of ranch life. Good with  four wheelers tractors and traffic. He is so easy to mount up on. If you climb up on the fence or your horse trailer step or mounting block, you can just smooch to him and he will step right over and let you on and wait patiently till you get set in the saddle. This horse has been fun to have around and we have enjoyed hauling him to the spring and fall branding‘s this year. He was also featured in 2024s Montana Cowboy calendar by Mark Larowe. He is a pretty handy cow horse and could be an asset to any operation. He has also been to hunting camp and will hobble and highline. You can lead mules or horses behind him with no problems. This guy is not spooky or over reactive. He walks with confidence. This is a nice horse in the prime of his life that is ready to go to work wherever you point him.
